GOSHEN —
Ted and Kay (Pederson) Cripe, Goshen, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
They were married Jan. 17, 1953, at the First Baptist Church, Hastings, Minn., by the Rev. William Pederson, brother of the bride.
The couple’s children have arranged for the entire family of almost 50 people to gather in May for a four-day stay at a lodge in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
Their children include the late Rodney Cripe, Susan (Robert) Kulp, Washington, Pa., Beverly (Jack) McMahan, Auckland, New Zealand, Nathan (Susan) Cripe, Daniels, W.Va., Bonita (Charlie) Frink, Auckland, New Zealand, and the late Joel Cripe. They have 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. A grandchild and great-grandchild are deceased.
The Cripes farmed west of Goshen until purchasing a farm in 1958 in Cassopolis, Mich. They began attending Appalachian Bible College in Bradley, W.Va. in 1963. In 1966, they began missionary work with the native Maori people in New Zealand. They returned to the United States in 2006 to retire at Waterford Crossing.
