GOSHEN —
Vernon and Nettie (Schrock) Bontrager, Goshen, are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.
They were married Jan. 21, 1943.
Family and friends are invited to an anniversary open house celebration Jan. 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the lower-level meeting room at Waterford Crossing, Goshen. The couple requests no gifts but cards would be welcome. Anniversary greetings can be mailed to the Bontragers at Apt. 411, 1212 Waterford Circle, Goshen, IN 46526.
They have eight children, Eileen (Alvin) Miller, Goshen, Leonard (Judy) Bontrager, Rochester, Clifford (Julia) Bontrager, Searcy, Ark., Ruby (Richard) Beachy, Champaign, Ill., Phyllis Ramer, Wakarusa, Myron (Dana) Bontrager and Arloa (Rohrer) Bontrager-Bomberger, both of Goshen, and daughter-in-law, Patty Bontrager, Howe. Their son, Glendon Bontrager, is deceased. They also have 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
He retired from Petrolane Gas Company in Goshen. He has enjoyed gardening, reading and puzzles. He is a volunteer grader for Gospel Echoes Prison Ministry Bible Studies.
She is a homemaker and likes to crochet and bake bread and cookies.
The Bontragers have been active members of Roselawn Mennonite Church in Middlebury for many years.
