James and Alta (Hart) Brown, Nappanee, are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.
They were married March 5, 1943.
The Browns celebrated their anniversary at a family gathering with their children and their spouses.
Their children include a daughter, Marsha (Roger) Disher, Nappanee, and sons, James (Linda) Brown, New Paris, and Randall (Liz) Brown, Grand Rapids, Mich. They have eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in Nappanee.
She retired from the office of Dr. John DeFries, New Paris.
The Browns are members of the First Church of God in Nappanee.
