GOSHEN —
Roy and C Maxine (Vance) Archer, Goshen, are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.
They were married Sept. 4, 1942, at the home of the Rev. Cleon Schwartz in Goshen.
They have four children, Tana Penland and Carolyn Bogucki, both of Goshen, son-in-law, Larry Bray of Milford and the late Jon Archer and Marilyn Bray; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.
He is a veteran of World War II. He was a building contractor, worked in the recreational vehicle industry and worked part time in Syracuse before retiring in 2000. She is a homemaker.
The Archers will be honored at an anniversary open house celebration Sept. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Abshire Park, located on East Lincoln Avenue in Goshen. The couple requests no gifts, only the presence of their family and friends.
