George and Mary Jane (Thomas) Pestow, Goshen, are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.
They were married Feb. 3, 1945, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Goshen, by the Rev. Herman Miller.
Their eight children include Georgianna Paul, Michigan, Mary Elizabeth (Harold) Gaskill, Florida, Charles (Lynne) Pestow, Michigan, Joseph Pestow, Indianapolis, Lyle (Nancy) Pestow, Florida, Theresa (Jack) Rowe, Fort Wayne, George Pestow, Elkhart, and Catherine (Mike) Beachy, Goshen. They have 27 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
He worked for The Goshen News for 39 years, retiring in 1985. He enjoys woodworking, crafting grandfather clocks, bookcases, shelves and many gifts for his family.
She worked part-time at The Goshen News for 30 years. She is a homemaker and enjoys cooking, sewing and knitting. They like to spend time together and visit their extended family.
The Pestows were honored Saturday in their home at a special family gathering with all of their children for a homemade meal.
