LaGRANGE, Ind — Lakeland School Corp. will hold an informational meeting for parents of children with special needs who are home schooled or attend a non-public school.
The meeting will take place Thursday in the Lakeland Corp. office located behind Parkside Elementary School at 200 S. Cherry St. in LaGrange.
American Legion
The LaGrange American Legion Post 215 will serve a chicken buffet and salad bar Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. The cost is $8 and the public is invited. The Legion is located north of LaGrange on Industrial Drive.
Blood drive
Give the gift of blood. More then 39,000 pints of blood are needed each day. The American Red Cross will have a blood drive Dec. 30 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Parkview LaGrange Hospital, located at 207 N. Townline Road in LaGrange. Call 463-2143 ext. 5136 to schedule a blood donation appointment.
Library news
Janie Ebinger, author of “Simply Vinaigrettes” and “Janie’s Simply Entree Salads for Two” will visit the LaGrange and Topeka libraries to autograph copies of her cookbooks. She will also prepare three vinaigrettes for sampling. Registration is required by Dec. 28.

The Second Saturday Book Club will be discussing “The Last Lecture” by Randy Pausch Jan. 9 from 11 a.m. to noon at the LaGrange County Public Library on Spring Street. This an adult reading group for those ages 16 and older.
