Wardrobe expert Kathy Friend to visit Goshen Goodwill

GOSHEN — Goodwill Industries of Michiana is hosting “Fashion Days with Kathy Friend” at its Goshen retail store, 1905 Lincolnway East, Saturday, May 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This event is one of several being held this year with fashion expert Kathy Friend.

Guests will enjoy a live fashion show with children from the Goshen area at noon. The theme will be “Dress Like Mom.”

At 12:30 p.m., Friend will offer a mini-workshop called “Don’t Get Stuck in the Frumpy Mom Trap!”

Friend will be on-hand following the fashion show and workshop to assist guests with their selections and answer questions about wardrobe, fashion and fit.

Those attending will learn how to create a look that flatters their body shape, lifestyle and budget. The first 10 individuals who bring a donation of at least 20 clothing items will receive a discount on a private consultation with Friend that they can schedule at a later date.

“With today’s economy,” Friend stated in a press release, “more people are realizing that Goodwill is a great place to shop for savings and style. I’ve seen all of the major brands you would find at the mall, plus some very high end lines typically found on Michigan Avenue in Chicago.”

Future dates for local Fashion Days at Goodwill stores are: Aug. 4 in Granger (Back to School Kid’s Fashion Show & Tips to Get the Most from Your Clothing Budget Mini Workshop) and Sept. 15 at the Elkhart North Store (Fall / Winter Kid’s Fashion Show & Fall Trends Mini Workshop)

Yes, having more people increases the tax base and strengthens the community
