It’s the end of an era at the Boys & Girls Club of Goshen. Andy Purviance, the long-time Director of the Club, will be saying good bye to the club and Goshen this fall as he and his wife Donna relocate to San Diego where Purviance will continue his career in Boys & Girls Clubs.
Purviance’s affiliation with the Goshen Club began as a board member 16 years ago. He served on the board for four years, the last two as board president.
Through his board experience, Purviance says he “fell in love with the mission” of the Boys & Girls Club. In 2000, he chose to change careers to help shape young lives at the club. Since then, he has held the positions of unit director, director of operations and for the past seven years, the associate executive director of the club.
“We have been very blessed to have had Andy at the helm of our Goshen Club,” said Kevin Deary, president/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County. “Under his care, the club has hit a lot of important milestones and Andy is leaving the Goshen Club in a very good position, both operationally and within the hearts and minds of the community of Goshen.
“We are currently accepting applications for the Director position,” Deary said. “And know there will be a lot of strong and qualified applicants out there who are interested in serving children at the same high level that Andy has.”

The Boys & Girls Club of Goshen is a non-profit youth-development agency that serves school-age children, age 6 to 18, providing quality programming after school and all day in the summer. The club provides a safe environment where children and youth are given opportunity, encouragement and a moral compass through interaction with caring, adult professionals.
