Oaklawn recognizes employees

— GOSHEN — May employees were recognized during Oaklawn’s annual employee recognition event April 19.

Oaklawn President Laurie Nafziger presented employee service awards and special awards at Oaklawn, 330 Lakeview Drive, Goshen.

Honored for 25 years of service were: Jeannie Krabill Miller, Gary Yoder and Ken Yoder, all social workers at Oaklawn. They will join Oaklawn’s Quarter Century Club.

Twenty-year honorees were: Jane Jacobs, Karen Miller, Lisa Short and Paul Yoder.

Those recognized for 15 years of service were Tammy McDonald, Patsy Parks-Lantz, Russell Rhodes, Joan Speckman, Fred Swartzendruber and Rosalie Williamson.

Ten-year employees included: Janelle Ascencio, Jeanne Berger, Nicholas Catapano, Maria Conniff, Dudley Fisher, Rose Gillin, Marilyn Groves, Jeffrey Kauffman, Dora Martin-Eash, Letha McKnight, Theresa Miller, Kimberly Neff, Paul Slabaugh, Amy Spurgeon, Susan Taccheri and Laura Young.

Cited for five years of service were: Kathleen Blevins, Derek Bontreger, Daniel Buzalski, Brooke Chamberlin, Crystal Coryell, Vicki Duncan, Susan Gervers Feathergill, Barbara Fox, Rebecca Gerber, Frances Michelle Hawkins, Martha Horne, Keith Johnston, Janice Kimlick, Laura Kratzer, Michele Kustron, Vanessa Lantzer, Martha Lehman, Arlene Lehmann, Carrie Miller, Darrin Miller, Elizabeth Murphy, Janet Nallenweg, Richard Pipher, Luanne Ramer, Jessica Ratliff, Dori Sassaman, Maria Shisler, Melody Slabach and Gabriela Tovar.

Cup of Cold Water Award

Bill Vaillancourt, maintenance coordinator, was the recipient of the Cup of Cold Water Award, which refers to the biblical scripture Matthew 10:42 and symbolizes the quiet service and unassuming dedication of an Oaklawn employee who goes the extra mile to  get the job done or to be helpful to customers.

Otto D. Klassen Award

Dr. Josh J. Mathew was the recipient of the Otto D. Klassen Award for Clinical Excellence. Dr. Mathew has been a psychiatrist at Oaklawn for five years.

Values in Action Awards

Values in Action Awards recognize staff who live out the values of Oaklawn in their jobs, attitudes and actions. This year’s recipients were: Kiley Sheehan, Jennifer Baldwin, Kathleen Hurst, Chereese Sylvester, Emily Neufeld, Darrin Miller, Tracy Smith, Gwen Preheim-Bartel and Paul Curry.
