The Goshen Water and Sewer business office will credit some customer accounts after a billing error, the office stated in a press release Monday.
“The Goshen Water and Sewer business office regrets to inform its customers that a billing error occurred on some of our customers’ water and sewer bills when we reprogrammed the billing software to incorporate the summer sewer break this year,” the release stated. “Due to the error some customers were overbilled for the sewer portion of the bill.”
The office staff is working to correct the affected accounts, and they have looked into the error with the new software account, according to the release.
The error only affects customers billed June 11, the release said.
“If an overbilled account is paid in full, as detailed on the statement, a credit will be given on the next statement,” according to the release. “If a customer wants to know if their statement is one that was affected and/or wants the correct amount due on their account, please contact us.”
The office is located at 203 S. Fifth St., and can be reached by phone at (574) 533-9399, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

It’s a bleak scenario. A massive earthquake along the New Madrid fault kills or injures 60,000 people in Tennessee. A quarter of a million people are homeless. The Memphis airport — the country’s biggest air terminal for packages — goes off-line. Major oil and gas pipelines across Tennessee rupture, causing shortages in the Northeast. In Missouri, another 15,000 people are hurt or dead. Cities and towns throughout the central U.S. lose power and water for months. Losses stack up to hundreds of billions of dollars.
