GOSHEN —
Emmon Schmucker of Goshen has been named Realtor of the Year by the Elkhart County Board of Realtors and Steve Noonan was selected as Affiliate of the Year.
The professional group presents the annual award to a Realtor who follows the highest principles in the real estate industry. The Realtor of the Year is selected for their professionalism, community service and board activity both past and present.
Schmucker is the 2013 board president. According to the organization, Schmucker is a licensed real estate broker and auctioneer working for Coldwell Banker Roth Werhrly Graber in Elkhart. Schmucker has been in the real estate business for 20 years.
Schmucker has served on many committees for both the board and Multiple Listing Service and has served as president of the MLS. He is a participant in the 2013 Indiana Association of Realtors Leadership Academy and the Indiana Association of Realtors Board of Directors.
Schmucker is also president of Dream Ministries, an organization that provides independent living for women with disabilities, is a deacon at Grace Community Church, and serves as a missionary to Thailand and Cambodia where he and his wife Dana provide support to orphanages in each country.
Affiliate of the year
Noonan is a marketing representative with Stewart Title. Noonan has been a member of the Elkhart County Board of Realtors for six years and has participated in several committees, including marketing and serving as chairman of the programs committee in 2011.
Noonan has been in sales his entire career and owned his own business prior to coming into the real estate industry. Noonan is a father of two adult children, Alexa and Christopher, and has been married to his wife Sue for 31 years.
