The Goshen Crimson Marching Band will head to Bands of America (BOA) Grand Nationals next month.
The Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan was the site of the 2012 BOA Regionals on Saturday. Eighteen bands competed to achieve a top 10 performance and move on to the BOA Grand Nationals.
The Goshen Crimson Marching band under the direction of Tom Cox performed “Musica de’organo”. Other bands competing were from Michigan, Kentucky, Illinois, Georgia, Missouri and Ohio.
The Goshen band’s show earned it the number eight spot, just seven points behind the number one band.
Grand Nationals will take place Nov. 7-10 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The top 12 bands with the highest point totals will perform on Saturday and the winner will receive an invitation to be a part of the 2014 Tournament of Roses Parade.
Also competing from Indiana Saturday were DeKalb and Munster high schools.
