THE GOSHEN NEWS
Detective Ken Saeger of the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department is asking the community for help after a New Paris Conservancy District surveillance camera captured footage of a robber police believe may have been involved in three other break-ins.
In the video, a suspect that seems to be to be a white male between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall is seen in an office area rummaging through a desk. He is believed to be connected with the following:
• A Dec. 29 burglary at a vehicle repair and paint shop in the 68300 block of C.R. 23 resulting in the loss of up to $50,000 in tools, computers and other items, including a F-350 Ford pickup truck, which was later recovered
• A Dec. 29 burglary at another business near the first incident, this time in the 19200 block of C.R. 46, where an office was ransacked and office equipment and tools were stolen from two buildings
• The Jan. 8 burglary at the conservancy district, where tools and possibly other items were taken
• A Jan. 12-13 burglary of a business in the 71900 block of C.R. 23, where tools, cash, propane gas and computer equipment was taken and a 1993 pickup owned by the business was stolen and driven through a chain-link gate
Police believe the suspect may be involved in more break-ins from the Milford area in northern Kosciusko County, and are asking anyone with information about the crimes to call the sheriff’s department at (574)533-8644 during business hours or (574)533-4151 on nights and weekends. Detective Saeger also may be reached by e-mail at ksaeger@elkhartcountysheriff.com.
