LaGRANGE —
The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department and state police are investigating an escape attempt from the LaGrange County Jail. According to police, an investigation revealed that when the inmate was transported to court Monday, associates of the prisoner were planning to assist in a possible escape. Police learned that the plan included the associates providing a car, money, weapons and tools to escape. The plan was reportedly coordinated over several weeks through inmate visitation, mail and telephone calls.
The case is still under investigation and reports will later be released to the Lagrange County prosecutors office for review and possible charges.
