GOSHEN — The Freedom Conference for Women, hosted by Harvest Community Church Friday and Nov. 10, is designed for women to learn to experience more freedom in their lives as Christ-followers and world-changers.
Through worship, workshops and teachings, women will have the opportunity to learn about freedom, build relationships and make new friends with other women.
Speaker Gloria Miller is a long-time member of Harvest. Friday night, Miller will be sharing her story about how she has experienced freedom from depression and religious struggles.
Attendees can go to multiple workshops. Topics will range from cooking to blogging. There will be a marketplace that will feature a variety of businesses including cosmetics, home goods and jewelry.
A schedule can be found at www.hccgoshen.org. The cost is $25 per person and includes a dessert bar on Friday and a coffee bar and lunch on Saturday. Registration is available online at hccgoshen.org/freedom or by calling the HCC office at 574-534-3528. The deadline to register is Monday. The church is located at 17285 C.R. 34, Goshen, one-quarter mile east of the fairgrounds.

Planners like changes to CVS parking lot

During their meeting Tuesday, Goshen Plan Commission members gave their blessing to a request by CVS Pharmacy and State Permits Inc. for a major change to the CVS Planned Unit Development that seeks to reconfigure the north portion of the parking lot to increase the overall Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility of the site. The final site plan for the PUD was also approved by the commission Tuesday, and the request will now be forwarded on to the Goshen City Council with a favorable recommendation. -
Council won’t fund school sidewalks
GOSHEN — Goshen City Council members voted along party lines Tuesday to defeat a proposal by Goshen Community Schools for a 50-50 cost split between the city and the school corporation to pay for a $125,000 sidewalk expansion project.
