GOSHEN —
Goshen Board of School Trustees members Monday appointed new directors to the positions of facilities director and technology director for the corporation.
Receiving the facilities director appointment Monday was Tom Boomershine, a 16-year Goshen Community Schools employee in the maintenance department, who most recently served as maintenance coordinator for the corporation.
“It is with great pleasure that I recommend tonight that Tom Boomershine be designated as the facilities director for Goshen Schools,” said GCS Superintendent Diane Woodworth. “He has been employed here for 16 years in the maintenance department, and has had several roles in the department. As such, he knows these buildings very well — what’s in the basement, what’s in the crawl spaces, what’s in the closets, stairs that I didn’t know existed... it’s amazing. He’s just a very loyal and dedicated employee and very knowledgeable about our facilities and grounds here.”
Through his new position, Boomershine will receive an annual salary of $69,163. In addition, GCS will contribute $9,811 toward Boomershine’s health insurance premium.
“Thank you very much,” Boomershine said following the board’s vote of approval. “It should be a pretty natural transition.”
Receiving the technology director appointment Monday was David Snyder, an 11-year corporation employee in the technology department, serving most recently as the corporation’s tech associate-network coordinator.
“David knows everything about technology, about the network, about the hardware, about the software. Like any imaginable question, everybody in the district knows to call David Snyder,” Woodworth said. “He has been here 11 years in several roles in the technology department, and is also a very positive and loyal, very hard working employee.”
Through his new position, Snyder will receive an annual salary of $65,698. In addition, the corporation will contribute $11,383 toward Snyder’s health insurance premium.
“Thanks for the opportunity,” Snyder said following the vote. “I’m looking forward to it.”
