New pastor installed at Plymouth United Methodist Church

GOSHEN — z The Rev. Linda Sue Hewitt has also been a public school teacher.



The Rev. Linda Sue Hewittt was installed as pastor of Plymouth United Church of Christ in Goshen at a service of worship Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Eva Buthy, chairwoman of the Northwest Association committee on the Ministry, officiated at the installation service. A reception was held in the fellowship hall following the service.

Hewitt was born in Noble County. She is the second of eight children born to Roy and Linda hewitt, who lived in Kimmell. She graduated from West Noble High School, Manchester College, Indiana University and Christian Theology Seminary.

She tought social studies at Rochester Middle School for more than 30 years. In addition to her career in public education, she has been an ordained pastor for the past 12 years, and most recently served as the pastor of the United Church of Christ in Bourbon.

Rev. Hewitt will retire from public school teaching in December and move to the Goshen area in the near future.

Plymouth United Church of Christ is located at 902 S. Main St, Goshen. It recently became the host church for the Center for Healing and Hope, an urgent care medical clinic.
