GOSHEN —
Elkhart County Sheriff Brad Rogers will appear on CNN tonight on the Anderson Cooper 360 news program at both 8 and 10.
Rogers will be part of a town hall-style meeting hosted by Cooper, a journalist on CNN and CBS. Rogers posted a comment on his Facebook page today, which stated, “I have been invited by CNN to appear with several other points-of-view on the gun control debate. I will provide the Constitutional Sheriff perspective.”
Rogers is a member of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, a conservative group of law enforcement professionals who believe the federal government oversteps its constitutional authority in several areas.
CNN is promoting the show online with this synopsis:
Thursday on AC360: Guns under fire
Since the shooting massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary and the start of President Obama’s second term, one of the most divisive issues testing legislators today is how the country approaches gun laws. On Thursday at 8 p.m. ET, Anderson Cooper will gather important voices in the debate to talk about what must happen to achieve a common objective: less gun violence in America.
The town hall meeting will be held on the campus of George Washington University in Washington D.C. Rogers is in the nation’s capital, according to his secretary.
Viewers are invited to contribute their views on gun laws on Twitter using #gundebate360 during the programs.
