RV shipments up 2.2 percent in March

RESTON, Va. — Shipment of recreational vehicles climbed 2.2 percent in March compared to the same month in 2011, according to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association.

The RVIA said the 28,100 units shipped represented the best March total since 2008.

Through the first three months of this year shipments were 71,400 units, a gain of 9.7 percent over the same period in 2011.

In March, the largest RV segment increase was fifth-wheels, with a 12.1 percent gain.
