Goshen resale shop will be expanding

GOSHEN — Cindy Chadwell’s and Larry Moore’s store has only been open since November, and they are already expanding it.

They operate the resale/consignment/overstock store “Shop Around the Corner” at  521 E. Lincoln Ave. in Goshen. The space was formerly occupied by Goshen Furniture Rental.

“We have a little bit of everything,” Chadwell said while giving a tour of the several large rooms filled with items.

The store has furniture, tools, sporting goods, knickknacks, clothing, books and even an antique riveting machine from the early 20th century.

Chadwell said the couple have been buying the contents of storage lockers for several years and also sell items on eBay.

The store’s stock changes daily. She said as some items are sold others are brought in from a storage area, so the offerings change quickly.

She said there is a lot of room in the large building and they are working to add more display areas in the near future.

The store is open Tuesdays through Fridays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.

The phone is 574-533-0814.

Poll

The U.S. Census Bureau reported last week that Goshen’s population increased to 32,064 in 2012. It’s the first time the city has eclipsed 32,000 residents. Do you think population growth is good for the city?

Yes, having more people increases the tax base and strengthens the community
No, continual growth has made for overcrowding in schools and overwhelmed infrastructure.
