Goshen Chamber 'Third House' sessions start Saturday

GOSHEN — The 2013 Indiana legislative session is under way, and local “Third House” meetings begin this Saturday.

Goshen Chamber of Commerce officials host the gatherings, set for every other Saturday through May 15 starting at 8 a.m. The Goshen Chamber office is located at 232 S. Main St.

The meetings are open to the public. According to the Chamber, they are designed to provide an opportunity for both Chamber members and the general public to discuss with state lawmakers issues and ideas that affect he community.

State Sen. Carlin Yoder and state Reps. Wes Culver, Rebecca Kubacki and Tim Wesco are scheduled to appear at the Goshen sessions.

“It is important that our state representatives hear from constituents at these meetings to get feedback on what is proposed in Indianapolis,” Chamber staff stated in a news release.

This year’s Goshen Chamber Third House meetings are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 9 and 23, March 9 and 23, April 6 and 20 and May 4 and 15.

Elkhart Chamber

There will also be a Third House meeting Saturday at the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce, 418 S. Main St. That session will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Additional Third House sessions at the Elkhart Chamber are scheduled for Feb. 23, March 23 and April 20 at 10 a.m.
