NAPPANEE — A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place Friday morning for Legacy Hair & Tanning Salon. Members of the Nappanee Chamber of Commerce welcomed the business owners, Sarah and Dan Hawkins, to their new downtown location at 104 Lincoln St.
Larry Andrews, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce, said it was “so heartwarming to see so many people here to welcome Legacy downtown. You can tell (Sarah’s) a Notre Dame fan with the blue and gold décor.”
Legacy was previously located on the west end of the city. Missy Fisher, who along with her husband Jay own the Lincoln Street building and Fisher’s Fitness, congratulated her new tenants. Fisher said she was excited about city officials’ plans to improve Lincoln Street, which will enhance the Lincoln Street businesses.
Legacy offers spray tanning, tanning beds, haircuts and styling. Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. During the heavy tanning season, the salon will also be open on Sundays and Mondays.
