One driver was hurt in a three-vehicle crash at U.S. 20, west of C.R. 35, at 7:09 a.m. Monday.
According to Elkhart County police, Jared N. Yoder, 22, 811 Antler Drive, apt. B, Middlebury, was driving a 1996 Chrysler Sebring east on U.S. 20 and passing another eastbound vehicle. He was unable to complete the pass and the car struck the rear axles of a semi-trailer driven by Arturo Velasquez, 37, 24460 Lynn Drive, Elkhart, who was headed west. Debris from the crash struck a westbund Pontiac driven by Lucy Dominguez, 60, 58329 Hilly Lane, Elkhart.
Yoder was flown by MedFlight to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment of a head injury. He was a patient in intensive care Tuesday, but no report on his condition was available. The Chrysler was demolished. No one else was hurt.

The Middlebury Police Department has received complaints from local residents of a scam that is being done in the area. Residents receive a call from an individual who identifies himself from Publishers Clearing House. He advises the resident that they have won a luxury car and $800,000 in cash.

Two children found in vacant home
Goshen police were called to a vacant residence in the 400 block of North Fifth Street, Goshen, at 8:07 p.m. Wednesday. Officers found a 4-year-old and 3-month-old alone inside the residence.
