Police check out threat at Milford school

MILFORD — Police from several agencies helped with security at Milford Elementary/Middle School Tuesday after a threat of violence was found writtin in a restroom on Monday.

According to Milford Town Marshal Rich Miotto, police responded Monday afternoon after a written threat was found on a bathroom stall door. Milford police were assisted on Tuesday by officers from Syracuse, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police as all staff and students were checked when they arrived at school.

School officials also sent electronic communication Monday evening to Milford parents advising them of the threat. Officers inspected the building with school faculty prior to the arrival of students. Nothing suspicious was found.

The incident is under investigation by Milford police.
