Handgun stolen at work release center

Goshen police received a report of the theft of a handgun Tuesday.

According to a city police report, Stephanie Bigler, Middlebury, said her handgun was stolen as she worked at the county work release center, 201 Cottage Ave., between July 21 and Aug. 16.

Burglary reported

Goshen police received a report of a burglary at the North Meadow Convenience Store, 1149 N. Main St., at 2:12 a.m. Wednesday. Police were told that two people were involved in the burglary in the night.

Burglary discovered

Elkhart County Sheriff’s officers were called to the home of Lesley Staples, 29790 C.R. 1, Granger, on Friday when the resident reported a house burglary. A door was forced open and jewelry, a TV set, CD player and revolver were stolen.

Bristol burglary

According to a sheriff’s department report, Chad Hershberger, 20983 Arcadia Drive, Bristol, reported his house was burglarized sometime last week. Taken were six wrist watches, a digital camera, laptop computer and Playstation 3. The incident is under investigation.

Alcohol arrests

Goshen police reported the arrest of Steven W. Gorsuch, 45, 909 N. Indiana, #21, Goshen, after a traffic stop at Lincolnway East and Caragana Court, at 6:14 p.m. Sunday. He was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated and booked at the county jail.

According to a Goshen police report, a vehicle driven by Jeronimo Soto, 29, 1531 Morehouse, Elkhart, was stopped in the 1700 block of Elkhart Road at 7:20 p.m. Sunday. The driver was arrested on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated and booked into the county jail.
