Murder sentence for Elkhart man upheld

The Indiana Court of Appeals this week upheld an Elkhart man's 64-year-prison sentence for a 2007 murder.

Edward Fair, 28, 901 W. Beardsley Ave., murdered Martinez with a 4-foot homemade sword in order to avoid a drug debt. Martinez's body was then deposited in a field southwest of Goshen.

Fair was sentenced in Elkhart County Circuit Court in May 2009.
