GOSHEN —
Goshen police are requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a shooting last fall.
Police were called to the area of Riverside Boulevard and Clinton Street at 6:12 p.m. Oct. 5. Officers and paramedics arrived at 1310 W. Clinton St. and found the victim, Michael Edwards, 44, lying on the ground in back of the residence. He was suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.
Edwards was transported to a hospital. Police later said he was expected to make a full recovery.
Edwards told police he was attacked by a black male between the ages of 15 and 22, with a slender build and around 5 feet 10 inches tall. At the time of the shooting, the assailant was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt and jeans. Edwards said he believed the man was attempting to commit robbery.

Middlebury police warn of scam
The Middlebury Police Department has received complaints from local residents of a scam that is being done in the area. Residents receive a call from an individual who identifies himself from Publishers Clearing House. He advises the resident that they have won a luxury car and $800,000 in cash.

Two children found in vacant home
Goshen police were called to a vacant residence in the 400 block of North Fifth Street, Goshen, at 8:07 p.m. Wednesday. Officers found a 4-year-old and 3-month-old alone inside the residence.
