Kosciusko County police arrested a Warsaw motorist at gunpoint Wednesday after he allegedly rammed his wife’s vehicle off the roadway south of Milford.
Taken into custody was Miguel A. Malagon, 41.
Around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to a call of a possible missing person. Soon after, emergency dispatchers received information that the missing woman, Maria R. Malagon, 34, Warsaw, was possibly being held against her will by her estranged husband, Miguel, in the area of Ind. 15 and C.R. 900 North.
According to police, Kosciusko County deputy Travis Shively arrived at the scene and located two vehicles north of the intersection on Ind. 15. Police said the driver of one of the vehicles immediately left the scene, driving around Shively’s squad car that had its emergency lights activated and was blocking the highway.
Police said Shively pursued the vehicle south until the fleeing driver, Miguel Malagon, suddenly stopped at C.R. 900 North. Malagon was arrested at gunpoint.
Police later determined that Miguel Malagon had rammed his vehicle into his wife’s vehicle and forced her off the roadway.
Malagon was arrested on charges of felony intimidation, criminal recklessness with a vehicle, a felony count of fleeing law enforcement, and violation of a protective order.
