WAKARUSA —
The Elkhart County coroner’s office and the sheriff’s department are investigating the death of a man who was found at a Wakarusa home Sunday morning.
Authorities were called shortly after 7 a.m. to a house at 27842 Ind. 119, Wakarusa, when the body of Bryan Kolski, 26, was discovered at the bottom of the basement steps there.
Coroner John White said Monday an autopsy determined Kolski died from blunt force trauma to his head, but the investigation is ongoing and the coroner’s office will wait on toxicology test results before completing the investigation.
White said Kolski was part of a group that attended a wedding reception in Nappanee Saturday and then returned to the house and continued to socialize up to 4 a.m. Sunday. The coroner did not think Kolski lived at the home, but was a visitor that night.
A 911 telephone call was made at 7:08 a.m. to the emergency dispatch center after the victim was found in the home.
