Crash injures two
Two drivers were hurt in a three-vehicle crash at Ind. 19 and Ind. 119 at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
According to a report by Elkhart County police, Steven Slabaugh, 21, 20992 U.S. 6, Milford, was driving a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee and was stopped headed west on Ind. 119. The Jeep collided with a northbound 2006 Honda Civic driven by Antonia Armenta-Valaquez, 60, Chicago, Ill., and the Honda collided with a 2000 Dodge Ram truck driven by Alan Houser, 23, 69898 C.R. 13, New Paris.
Houser had neck pain and Armenta-Valazquez had chest pain.
Motorist injured
One driver was hurt in a two-vehicle rear-end crash at 1:38 p.m. Monday at U.S. 20 west of C.R. 35.
According to a report by Elkhart County police, Stephanie Marks, 25, Elkhart, was driving a 1993 Pontiac east on U.S. 20 and was distracted by occupants of her car before her car struck the rear of a trailer pulled by a 2003 Chevrolet driven by Nancy Vida, 56, Elkhart.
Vida had neck and back pain as a result of the crash. Sheriff’s officers cited Marks for driving with a suspended license.
One hurt in crash
One person was hurt in a truck rollover crash at 7:55 p.m. Saturday at Ind. 15, south of C.R. 126.
According to Elkhart County police, Joann Hershberger, 54, Goshen, was driving a 1997 Ford F-150 north on Ind. 15 when she lost control of the truck. It went off the east side of the road, hit a utility pole and rolled onto its top. The driver suffered a cut hand.
Woman hurt
An Elkhart woman was hurt in a two-car crash involving an Elkhart County sheriff’s deputy at 12:57 p.m. Tuesday north of Elkhart.
According to a sheriff’s department report, Linda Veroeke, 53, Elkhart, was driving a 2001 Saturn from a driveway onto C.R. 7, north of Edwards Road, when she drove into the path of a Crown Victoria driven on C.R. 7 by Sheriff’s Ptl. Brook Demeke, 36, Elkhart.
Veroeke was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of a hip fracture. Demeke was not hurt.
Motorists arrested
The following drivers were recently arrested by Elkhart County police on alcohol-related charges:
• Michelle M. Browning, 42, 18967 Jefferson Lane, Goshen, was stopped in the vehicle she was driving at U.S. 33, south of C.R. 20, at 1:22 a.m. Tuesday. She was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated as a Class D felony.
• Police reported they stopped a driver for speeding and having expired license plates on his vehicle at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday at Ind. 19 and Robair Street in Elkhart. The driver, Keith Hodges, 42, 1304 S. Main St., apt. B, Elkhart, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated, driving while his license is suspended and jailed on a warrant that charges him with dealing in cocaine, a Class B felony. He was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail on $75,000 bond.
• Sheriff’s officers reported they stopped a car at Benham Avenue, south of Hively Avenue, at 12:30 a.m. Sunday because the driver went left of the centerline. The driver, Steven B. Warr, 26, 24620 Green Valley Parkway, Elkhart, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated and driving while his license was suspended. He was incarcerated at the county jail. Bond was set at $1,500.

Police threatened with gun
A Middlebury man who reportedly threatened police with a shotgun in the presence of two young children was subdued and arrested at 12:55 a.m. Thursday.

Fifteen-year-old alleged murderer enters plea agreement
Colt Lundy has entered an agreement to plead guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit murder if other charges are waived.
The 15-year-old Cromwell boy entered the plea Wednesday in Kosciusko County Circuit Court.

Burglary reported to Goshen police
David Zehr, 806 S. Sixth St., reported an unknown someone broke a glass door at his residence, entered the home and stole several items at approximately 1 a.m. Sunday.

Goshen bail bondsman found guilty
A Goshen bail bondsmen who was charged with several felony counts after an encounter with the relative of a client in late 2006 was found guilty on six counts after a weeklong jury trial which ended Monday.

Suspect arrested in Elkhart shooting
An Elkhart man has been arrested on a charge of attempted murder after a shooting at 2:40 p.m. Friday near 705 Marion St. in Elkhart.
