Goshen driver arrested on license charge



A Goshen man was arrested on a charge of driving a vehicle while his driver’s license was suspended at 4:20 p.m. Friday in Goshen.

According to Goshen police, Daniel L. Heflin, 18, 415 Noble Court, Goshen, was stopped by police at the intersection of Lincolnway East and Douglas for a routine traffic violation.

During the stop, Heflin was reportedly found to be driving with a suspended driver’s license.

He was arrested at the scene and then released on a memorandum to appear in court.

Police arrest Goshen man



A Goshen man was arrested on a charge of driving a vehicle while his driver’s license was suspended at 9:14 p.m. Friday in Goshen.

According to Goshen police, Hector Hernandez, 24, 1713 Longwood Court, Goshen, was stopped by police at the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Pike Street for a traffic violation.

During the stop, Hernandez was reportedly found to be driving with a suspended driver’s license.

He was arrested and then released on a memorandum to appear in court.

Goshen man faces alcohol charge



A Goshen man was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated at 12:58 a.m. Saturday in Goshen.

According to Goshen police, Kyle E. Rock, 21, 64762 Maxwells Gate, Goshen, was stopped by police at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Elkhart Road for a traffic violation.

During the stop, Rock was reportedly found to be intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .12 percent.

Rock was arrested at the scene and incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail.

Elkhart man arrested



An Elkhart man was arrested on a charge of theft at 10:27 p.m. Saturday in Goshen.

According to Goshen police, Parnell Jones Jr., 20, 24813 C.R. 16, Elkhart, was allegedly caught attempting to take merchandise from Meijer, 4522 Elkhart Road, Goshen.

Jones was arrested by police on the theft charge and then released on a memorandum to appear in court.

Michigan woman faces drug charges



A Michigan woman was arrested on two drug-related charges at 12:58 a.m. Sunday in Goshen.

According to Goshen police, Anne Fisette, 20, 70750 Elkhart Road, Edwardsburg, Mich., was stopped by police at the intersection of Ind. 19 and C.R. 4 for a traffic violation.

During the stop, Fisette was reportedly found to be in possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Fisette was arrested at the scene on the drug charges and incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail.

Goshen woman arrested



A Goshen woman was arrested on a charge of domestic battery at 1:42 a.m. Saturday in Goshen.

According to Goshen police, officers were called to the home of Jamie Hinkel, 29, 911 Colonial Manor Drive, Goshen, to investigate a report of domestic violence.

Hinkel was arrested on a charge of domestic battery and incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail.

Michigan driver arrested



A Michigan woman was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated at 3:28 a.m. Sunday in Goshen.

According to Goshen police, Alysha Newman, 20, Dowagiac, Mich., was stopped by police in the 1800 block of Elkhart Road for erratic driving.

During the stop, Newman was reportedly found to be intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .17 percent.

Newman was arrested at the scene and incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail.

Goshen woman arrested



A Goshen woman was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended driver’s license and an Elkhart County warrant at 7:20 p.m. Sunday in Goshen.

According to Goshen police, Brenda Singer, 26, 715 1/2 S. Main St., Goshen, was stopped by police at 701 W. Pike St. for a traffic violation.

During the stop, Singer was reportedly found to be driving after her driver’s license was suspended. Singer was also found to have an Elkhart County warrant for her arrest on a charge of impersonating a police officer, police said.

Singer was arrested at the scene and incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail.

Two face battery charges



A Goshen man and women were arrested on charges of domestic battery at 10:50 a.m. Sunday in Goshen.

According to Goshen police, officers were called to a home at 62 Richmond Court, Goshen, to investigate a report of domestic violence.

Upon arriving at the residence, Duane Forsberg, 52, and Betty Nunemaker, 53, were arrested on charges of domestic battery and incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail.

Thefts reported



Several thefts were reported to Goshen police recently including:

• Several undisclosed items stolen from the vehicle of Eric J. Parrow, 62, 21 Winchester Trails, Goshen, between 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

• A red and white Honda four-wheeler belonging to Hector Chavez, 34, 101 S. 24th St., Goshen, stolen from his property between 9:30 a.m. and 8:09 p.m. Sunday.

• Nintendo video game equipment and games belonging to Shannon McCreary, 316 N. First St., Goshen, stolen from her property at approximately 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Four hurt in crash



Four people were injured Sunday morning in a two-car collision at the intersection of C.R.s 3 and 36.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle driven by Trenton Jacobs, 16, Goshen, was westbound on C.R. 36 near Wakarusa and reportedly drove through a four-way stop.

Jacob’s vehicle collided with one driven by Karen Myers, 67, Elkhart, who was traveling northbound. Police said that the impact from the collision caused Myers’ vehicle to crash into a utility pole.

Myers complained of back and chest pain and three other passengers in the vehicle with her, Donald Lienhart, 66, Saundra Lienhart, 65, and Helen Lechlitner, 87, all of Goshen, also suffered chest pain.

Collision injures two



A motorcycle crash near U.S. 6 and C.R. 13 at approximately 6:30 Saturday injured both drivers after the cycles crashed into each other.

At least one of the victims was taken to a nearby hospital.

Goshen and Nappanee fire departments assisted at the scene.
