Three arrested after tip about drug operation

Three people were arrested after LaGrange and Noble county police acting on a tip went to a Wolcottville home early Tuesday to check on drug activity.

After LaGrange County officials received a tip on possible drug activity, sheriff’s officers and Noble County officers went to 507 West County Line Road, lot 2, Wolcottville. Police said they found narcotics and items associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine at the home.

The homeowner, David L. Slone, was arrested on charges of possession of meth, possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. Two others arrested on charges of visiting a common nuisance are Dusty Edmondson, 18, LaGrange, and Kenneth Bolen, 21, Kimmell.

Assisting at the scene were officers with the Indiana State, Wolcottville and LaGrange police departments.



Counterfeit money found in Elkhart



A counterfeit $10 bill was used at an Elkhart business over the weekend.

According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, a woman reported at 8:30 a.m. Monday that a counterfeit $10 bill was used at her business at 1444 W. Bristol St. sometime between Saturday and Monday.

The incident is under investigation.



Police arrest man on alcohol charge



According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, a Volvo driven by Nicholas Kessler, 21, 4135 N. Colleve Ave., Indianapolis, was stopped at 10:08 p.m. Monday at U.S. 33, north of C.R. 17, for erratic driving and an improper display of the registration. The driver was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Police learned there were three warrants for the man’s arrest. He was booked at the county jail.
