Two hurt in Thanksgiving day crash
Two drivers were hurt in a three-car crash at U.S. 20 and C.R. 35 at 2:10 p.m. Thursday.
According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Joseph Kessler, 31, Middlebury, was headed north on C.R. 35 and his 2009 Kia Borengo was struck by an eastbound 1996 Honda driven by Sebastian Heintzelman, 16, Goshen. Those vehicles then struck a 2002 Mitsubishi driven by Kristin Pletcher, 19, Middlebury, who was stopped on U.S. 20 at the traffic signal, headed west.
Kessler had right arm and rib pain and Heintzelman had a cut. Pletcher was not hurt.
Heintzelman was cited for disregarding the automatic signal.
Two hurt in U.S. 33 crash
Two drivers were hurt and one was cited after a two-car crash at U.S. 33 and C.R. 146 at 4:12 p.m. Thursday.
According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Betty McGuire, 71, Millersburg, was stopped on U.S. 33, headed south and attempting to turn left onto C.R. 146.
Her 1999 Ford was struck from behind by a 2001 Ford driven by Crystal Belcher, 22, Syracuse.
McGuire had neck and back pain. Belcher had hand pain after the crash.
Belcher was cited for driving fast when conditions require reduced speed, having a false registration and not having insurance.
