Leesburg driver injured
A Leesburg driver is in serious condition at a Fort Wayne hospital after a head-on crash at Armstrong Road near C.R. 200 East at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Justin Ryan Monroe, 18, 2355 W 600 North, Leesburg, drove his vehicle across the centerline of Armstrong Road and crashed into an oncoming flatbed truck driven by Ronald . Phillips Jr., 401 N. Jefferson St., Silver Lake.
Monroe was listed in serious condition at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Phillips was not hurt.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Police did not know why the Monroe vehicle crossed the centerline.
Police said they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Woman arrested on domestic battery charge
A New Paris resident was jailed on a battery charge after Elkhart County Sheriff’s officers were called to her home at 7 p.m. Monday.
Sheriff’s officers reported the arrest of Kristina Anne Treat, 36, 19300 First St., New Paris, on a charge of domestic battery in the presence of a child.
She was booked at the county jail. Bond was set at $3,000.
Juvenile arrested on battery charge
Elkhart County Sheriff’s officers reported the arrest of a juvenile after they were called to a home at 460 Broadmore Estates. Sheriff’s officers went to the home at 4 p.m. Tuesday and arrested a 17-year-old girl on charges of three counts of battery. She was placed in the county juvenile detention center.
Mich. driver jailed after traffic stop
A Michigan driver was jailed on several charges after a traffic stop at C.R. 9, north of Modrell, at 12:44 a.m. Wednesday.
According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Jason M. Kershner, 33, 37775 Lakeland Circle, Westland, Mich., was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while his license is suspended and possession of a controlled substance. A passenger in the car, Brian Christner, 48, 1230 E. Bristol St., Elkhart, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Class D felony. Both were booked at the county jail.

Police threatened with gun
A Middlebury man who reportedly threatened police with a shotgun in the presence of two young children was subdued and arrested at 12:55 a.m. Thursday.

Fifteen-year-old alleged murderer enters plea agreement
Colt Lundy has entered an agreement to plead guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit murder if other charges are waived.
The 15-year-old Cromwell boy entered the plea Wednesday in Kosciusko County Circuit Court.

Burglary reported to Goshen police
David Zehr, 806 S. Sixth St., reported an unknown someone broke a glass door at his residence, entered the home and stole several items at approximately 1 a.m. Sunday.

Goshen bail bondsman found guilty
A Goshen bail bondsmen who was charged with several felony counts after an encounter with the relative of a client in late 2006 was found guilty on six counts after a weeklong jury trial which ended Monday.

Suspect arrested in Elkhart shooting
An Elkhart man has been arrested on a charge of attempted murder after a shooting at 2:40 p.m. Friday near 705 Marion St. in Elkhart.
