One person was hurt in a car-truck crash at Ind. 120 and Ind. 13 at 12:57 p.m. Monday.
According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, John Reigle, 59, Marcellus, Mich., was driving a 2006 Ford F-350 north and the truck collided with a eastbound 2008 Nissan Altima driven by Bruce Klonowski, 62, Elkhart.
A passenger in the car, Jan Klonowski, 60, Elkhart, had cuts to her head and hand. She was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment.
Reigle was ticketed for disregarding an automatic signal.
Driver injured
One driver was hurt in a head-on crash at Ind. 120, east of C.R. 17 and west of Bristol, at 9:42 p.m. Saturday.
According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Nicole Duffy, 23, Bristol, was driving a Ford Thunderbird east on Ind. 120 when she lost control of her car, went over the centerline and collided with an oncoming GMC Envoy driven by Dawn Merrill, 59, Elkhart.
Merrill had foot pain and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment. Merrill was ticketed for driving too fast for road conditions and driving without insurance, according to police.
Officers also reported that Duffy, who was not hurt, was ticketed for having a false registration.
Ligonier man hurt
A Ligonier man was hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash at C.R. 900 North (Perry Road), just east of the Elkhart-Noble county line road at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
According to a report by the Noble County Sheriff’s Department, Vikter M. Busch, 22, 178 E. Perry Road, Ligonier, was driving a 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager van west on C.R. 900 N when he lost control and the van slide sideways and struck a tree on the passenger side at 2277 Perry Road.
The driver was extricated by emergency crews and taken to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, for treatment of possible head and internal injuries.
The van was demolished.
Woman arrested
A Ligonier woman was jailed on a theft charge after she was accused of shoplifting at Walmart, 4024 Elkhart Road, Goshen, at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
According to a report by Goshen police, Nakeesha Hughes, 27, 1240 Martin St., #314, Ligonier, was accused of taking items from the store. She was incarcerated at the county jail on the charge of theft, a Class D felony.
