CROMWELL —
One man is dead and a woman injured following a double shooting near Cromwell late Thursday.
The death is due to an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Noble County police reported Friday.
Around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Noble County police received a call of a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at 3757 N. 900 West, Cromwell.
At the scene police discovered that the woman, identified as Delana Forsyth, was wounded in the leg and abdomen. She was transported to Parkview Trauma Center in Fort Wayne.
Noble County Sheriff’s Detective Joe Hutsell said Friday that Forsyth was expected to recover from her injuries. She’d had surgery earlier in the day, Hutsell added.
Police also found a man inside the residence, identified as Christian Forsyth, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Hutsell said sheriff’s officers are familiar with the couple.
“They’ve been known to have domestic issues,” he said.
The incident remains under investigation, according to police.
