Two arrested after

gunfire reported

Elkhart County police were called to the area of 58000 Andrews Drive, Goshen, at 6 p.m. Monday when it was reported that a man was shooting a gun into the air.

Police reportedly found Jeffrey King, 36, 58616 C.R. 19, and Gregory Dean King, 41, 58122 Andrew Drive, in a vehicle on Andrew Drive.

Jeffrey King reportedly failed a blood-alcohol test and was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Gregory King, whom police said was in possession of a firearm, was arrested on charges public intoxication and criminal recklessness with a firearm. Both were incarcerated in the Elkhart County Jail.

Driver arrested

A Michigan driver was arrested after a traffic stop by Middlebury police at 8 p.m. Sunday at Ind. 13 south of Ind. 120.

According to a police report, a green Isuzu Rodeo was stopped on Ind. 13, south of Ind. 120. The driver, Joshua J. Fleming, 24, 705 St. Joseph St., Sturgis, Mich., was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving with an expired license and on a warrant from an Allen County court. He was incarcerated in the Elkhart County Jail.

BB gun in school

Goshen police notified the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday that a student had taken a BB gun to a Goshen school on Friday.

Thefts reported

• According to Elkhart County police, Crystal Key and Jodi Mann reported thefts from their vehicles that were parked at 24557 C.R. 28, Goshen, between 1 and 7:30 a.m. Monday.

• Elkhart County police were called to a Concord Township home Friday when a resident reported the theft of items from parked vehicles. According to police, Roe L. Richards, 64, 23215 C.R. 26, Elkhart, reported at 7:30 a.m. Friday that someone went into his garage and took items from two vehicles parked there. No estimate of the loss was given.

Motorist arrested

Elkhart County police reported the arrest of a driver accused of being involved in a hit-and-run crash near Millersburg on Sunday.

Sheriff’s officers were called to a site at C.R. 44, west of Ind. 13, at 2 p.m. Sunday when a hit-and-run crash was reported. Police later located and arrested Justin Sweitzer, 21, 5730 N. 1085 West, Shipshewana. He was arrested on a charge of while intoxicated and incarcerated in the Elkhart County Jail.

Bicycle stolen

Goshen police received a report from Brett Hunter, 514 New York St., Goshen, at 3:30 p.m. Friday that his bicycle was stolen.

Woman arrested

on drug charges

Goshen police reported the arrest of Menna Grace Callen, 24, 62385 C.R. 29, Goshen, at Plymouth Avenue and Thirteenth Street at 12:05 a.m. Saturday. She was arrested on charges possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. She was booked at the county jail with bond set at $5,000.

Driver jailed

Goshen police reported the arrest of Miguel Macias, 33, 319 N. Second St., Goshen, after a traffic stop at Second and Wilkinson streets at 12:45 a.m. Saturday. He was arrested on a charge of driving while his license is suspended and on a warrant from an Elkhart County court. He was incarcerated in the Elkhart County Jail with bond set at $1,500.

Man arrested

According to a Goshen police report, Cody Goodrich, 19, 6959 Tee Trail, Syracuse, was arrested on charges of theft and resisting law enforcement at Walmart, 2304 Lincolnway East at 5:45 p.m. Saturday. He was incarcerated in the Elkhart County Jail with bond set at $3,000.

Shoplifters arrested

Goshen police reported the arrest of two juvenile girls at Kohl’s Department Store, 3802 Midway Road, at 3:30 p.m. Saturday on shoplifting charges. They were cited and released to parents.
