Truck collides with snow-plowing tractor


One person was hurt when a truck collided with a tractor that was plowing snow Tuesday afternoon in Jefferson Township.

According to a report by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, James Myers, 76, 58579 C.R. 33, Goshen, was pushing snow from his driveway with a 1979 Kubota tractor. He reportedly pushed snow onto the county road and the tractor was struck by a southbound 1997 GMC truck driven by Duane Miller, 40, 11905 Sandbrook, Millersburg.

Myers had a cut on his head and said he did not remember the accident. He was taken to Goshen General Hospital for treatment.

Miller was not hurt.

Damage was estimated at more than $2,500.

Driver ticketed

after crash

One driver was ticketed after a property damage crash north of Goshen about 5 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Goshen police, Luis Quintana-Juarez, 47, 374 Johnston St., No. 4, Goshen, was arrested on a charge of driving while never obtaining a license, after he drove into the rear of another vehicle on in the 60700 block of Ind. 15 Tuesday afternoon.

No one was hurt in the crash.



Vehicles collide

at C.R. 40, U.S. 33

A Milford driver was hurt in a car-truck crash at U.S. 33 and C.R. 40 at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Larry E. Long, 67, Goshen, was driving a 2004 International truck west on C.R. 40, stopped at U.S. 33, and then drove ahead into the intersection.

The truck collided with a southbound 2004 Suzuki Forenza driven by Kimberly S. McCreary, 24, Milford. She had pain to her right wrist and chest and was taken to Goshen General hospital for treatment.

Long was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way.
