Some late-night shoppers were unable to make their purchases at Kroger’s Thursday night.
According to a Goshen police report, police were called to Kroger’s Supermarket, 209 Chicago Ave., around 10:44 p.m. to find the business closed, but about a dozen shoppers inside.
The shoppers were attempting to purchase items from the store through the self-scan check-out lines, but no employees were there and the store was closed, according to the report.
A manager was called, and the store entrances were secured until the store reopened, according to the report.
Vandalism report
• Marilyn Vanarsdale, Goshen, reported a window was broken at a residence she owns at 1406 Chicago Ave sometime overnight Thursday, according to Goshen police.
Firearm reported
A woman reported that her 17-year-old grandson believes a firearm was pointed at him at the intersection of Washington and Ninth Streets around 8:19 p.m. Thursday, according to Goshen police.
OWI arrests
• David Puro, 60, 1397 Chicago Ave., Goshen, was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction within the last five years around 5:51 p.m. Thursday after he was involved in a property damage accident in the 900 block of Nikki Lane, according to Goshen police.
