Two Warsaw men were arrested Wednesday after breaking into a home on the west side of Warsaw.
Acting on an anonymous tip, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives responded to the area of Hartzler Drive at approximately 11:30 a.m. after receiving information of a possible burglary in progress.
Brandon Charles Carpenter, 25, and Jason Wayne Rohrer, 29, were arrested and preliminarily charged with a felony count of burglary of a residence.
Carpenter was preliminarily charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Carpenter and Rohrer are being held at the Kosciusko County Jail.
Theft/burglary reports
• Michael Baker, 304 E. Lincoln Ave., Goshen, told Goshen police Wednesday someone stole property from his residence at approximately 4 p.m. Nov. 6.
• Matthew Miller of Irvington, Ky., reported to Elkhart County police at 10 a.m. Monday of burglary, unauthorized control and criminal mischief at 68000 C.R. 33, Goshen. The residence was forcibly entered, paperwork and car keys were taken and Miller’s pickup truck’s gear shifter was damaged.
Vandalism/criminal mischief reports
• Samuel Horning, 412 E. Plymouth Ave., of Goshen, told Goshen police someone vandalized his vehicle at approximately 9:56 p.m. Wednesday.
• An employee of Bob’s Collision, 815 S. Ninth St., Goshen, reported to Goshen police observing three small male juveniles throwing golf balls and breaking windows of the paint shop at approximately 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Traffic arrests
• Laquinn Q. Baskin, 19, 518 Charles St., of Elkhart, was arrested by Goshen police on a charge of operating a vehicle while his driver’s license was suspended prior at 11:34 p.m. Wednesday after a traffic stop was made in the 4300 block of Elkhart Road, Goshen, for failing to indicate a turn. Baskin was given a citation with a court date and released at the scene.

• Kirk Beaudry, 40, 56992 C.R. 33 Middlebury, of Goshen, was stopped by Goshen police in the 61000 block of C.R. 17 for an equipment violation at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Beaudry was found to be on a suspended prior and alleged possession of marijuana. Beaudry was released on a future court date in Goshen City Court.
• Cory S. Holden, 26, of Goshen, was stopped for traffic violations by Elkhart County police on Ash Road at Old U.S. 20, Elkhart, at 12:30 a.m. Thursday. Holden was arrested on a felony counts of possession of precursors, possession of methamphetamine and manufacturing methamphetamine. He was jailed.

The Middlebury Police Department has received complaints from local residents of a scam that is being done in the area. Residents receive a call from an individual who identifies himself from Publishers Clearing House. He advises the resident that they have won a luxury car and $800,000 in cash.

Two children found in vacant home
Goshen police were called to a vacant residence in the 400 block of North Fifth Street, Goshen, at 8:07 p.m. Wednesday. Officers found a 4-year-old and 3-month-old alone inside the residence.
