NAPPANEE —
A one-vehicle crash around 2:37 p.m. Tuesday on C.R. 3 resulted in the driver being airlifted to a hospital.
According to Elkhart County police, a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Tyler Hochstetler, 19, Nappanee, was southbound on C.R. 3, north of C.R. 52, when the vehicle went left of center and off the roadway. The vehicle struck a fence, traveling through a ditch and ultimately colliding with a large concrete post. The Chevrolet overturned and landed on its top, according to police.
Hochstetler was taken via MedFlight to South Bend Memorial Hospital with injuries including a fractured ankle and forearm.
