TOPEKA —
An armed man robbed someone at the Topeka Livestock Auction this morning.
The hold-up occurred around 7:15 a.m. LaGrange County police said an individual was approached by a man armed with a handgun and wearing a ski mask and dark-colored clothes. The robber demanded money and left on foot after obtaining cash from the victim.
The robber was described as a white male, around 5 feet 4 inches tall, 20 to 30 years old and having a slender build.
Police believe the robber fled from a nearby business in a navy blue, mid-1990s Ford Ranger standard cab pickup truck. He was accompanied by a female. The truck was seen leaving Topeka eastbound on C.R. 700 South. It was being driven recklessly, police said, passing several vehicles.
Authorities say the robbers should be considered armed and dangerous.
Police ask that anyone who witnessed or has information about the armed robbery call the LaGrange County Dispatch Center at 260-463-7491.
