Jennifer Sims and Michael Deranek, both of Goshen, announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Sandra Sims, Shelby Township, Mich., and the late Donald Sims.
She received a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Albion College, Albion, Mich., and a master’s degree in athletic training from the University of Virginia, Charlottesvile, Va. She is a doctoral candidate in higher educational leadership and works as a research assistant at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Mich.
The groom-to-be is the son of Sherri and Steven Deranek, Goshen.
He received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Indiana University, Bloomington, and is pursuing a master’s degree in social work at Indiana University, South Bend. He is employed by Bashor Children’s Home, Goshen.
They plan to marry June 29, 2013, in Kalamazoo, Mich.
