Elkhart Civic Theatre and Elkhart city officials are collaborating with JoiningForces.com, a White House initiative to help military families, to give a free performance of “Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming” for military families and veterans of all branches of the armed services.
The free showing will be at the Lerner Theatre in downtown Elkhart Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. Tickets are available on a first come/first serve basis to the families of active military personnel, and to veterans of any of the branches of service. To receive up to six free tickets, military families and veterans must call The Lerner at 800-294-8223 or 574-293-4469, or order online at www.thelerner.com. They can also request them in person at the Lerner Box office. All ticket sales for this special showing are being handled at the Lerner and the tickets must be picked up in person at the Lerner Box Office at 410 S. Main St., Elkhart, during regular box office hours Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
After Monday, any remaining tickets will be made available to the general public.
“Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming” is the third in the Sanders Family trilogy, a bluegrass/gospel musical.
