GOSHEN —
The Goshen Theater is a performance venue. On St. Patrick’s Day, it will also serve as a musical pipeline.
Kennedy’s Kitchen will bring the sounds of Ireland to the Maple City during a concert at the downtown theater March 17. Showtime is 8 p.m.
Founded in 1998 by singer-songwriter John Kennedy, the band first came together on St. Patrick’s Day at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in South Bend. In addition to Kennedy, the Kitchen consists of Rob Weber, Chris O’Brien, Nolan and Liam Ladewski and Jacob Turner. The musicians play a variety of instruments including fiddle, flute, whistles, mandolin, bouzouki, guitar and bodhran.
Kennedy’s Kitchen appears frequently at local venues including Fiddler’s Hearth, Kate O’Connor’s, The Box Factory for the Arts, and Acorn Theatre. The group also plays at national Irish music festivals including Michigan Irish Fest, Erin Fest in Peoria, Ill., and Chicago’s Irish American Heritage Center’s Annual Fest.
The Goshen Theater is located at 216 S. Main St., Goshen. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children age 12 and younger. To reserve tickets, call the LVD’s ticket hotline at 574-400-LVDS. For more information on this or future concerts, call 574-202-4361.
