Storytime Express
Storytime Express sessions are set for Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. “Christmas Stories” are the theme this week. Fingerplays, songs and a craft activity are also featured. This program is free, and is recommended for children ages 2 to 5.
Boys & Girls Book Club
Registration is under way for the Boys & Girls Book Club featuring Battle of the Books. Call the Children’s Desk at 537-0241 or come in to register for the third- through fifth-grade Book Club.
Children will be reading books for this spring’s Battle of the Books event. Only 10 girls and 10 boys can sign up for this session. Book Clubs begin the week of Jan. 7. Boys will meet on Tuesdays and girls will meet on Thursdays, both at 4 p.m.

Ornaments for sale
The public is invited to purchase Christmas ornaments made by the Friends of the Library group. The ornaments, on display at the library, are available $4.50 apiece, or two for $8.
Teen Otaku Club
Teens will meet at the library Tuesday at 6 p.m. for a Christmas-themed meeting. This club is for teens who are interested in Manga and Anime. Call 848-7458 for details.

The public is invited to participate in the holiday scavenger hunt at the library from Dec. 26 to Jan. 4.

Food for fines
Library patrons are invited to donate non-perishable items through Dec. 29 and get a dollar off their fines for each acceptable item. Items must be unexpired, undented, unused and labeled. Donated items can be dropped off at the front desk.
‘Hunger Games’
Teens are invited to the library Jan. 4 at 3 p.m. to watch “The Hunger Games,” rated PG 13. Refreshments will be provided. Viewers age 13 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Charlie Daniels Band coming to Shipshewana
He’s got the hat, the fiddle and the hits. And he’s feeling revitalized.
In a recent telephone interview with The Goshen News, 74-year-old Charlie Daniels said he is feeling like a new man after his pacemaker procedure earlier this year. He says everything is in sync and he is having a great time on the road.
“I’m enjoying this tour and we are looking forward to making music in Indiana,” the country-rock icon said. -

Kris Kristofferson to perform at Lerner Aug. 10
A onetime Highwayman is headed to downtown Elkhart.
Country musician Kris Kristofferson is scheduled to perform at The Lerner Theater, 410 S. Main St., Aug. 10. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7:30. -

The Elkhart County Historical Museum and the Elkhart Civic Theatre will return to Grace Lawn Cemetery in Elkhart for the annual cemetery tour.
