The Read That! Teen Book Discussion Group will meet Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Teen Space on the main floor. This month participants are reading the novel “The Total Tragedy of a Girl Named Hamlet” by Erin Dionne.
Register at the front desk or by phone at 533-9531. Copies of the book are available. Young people in grades six through 12 are invited to attend.
Storytime Express
Storytime Express sessions are set for Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Award-winning Caldecott books will be featured. Finger plays, songs and a craft activity are also planned. This program is free and is recommended for ages children ages 2 to 5.
Crafty Bandits
The Crafty Bandits for Teens group will meet March 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the Teen Space on the main floor. Library staffers supply the craft materials, and the “Bandits” supply the creativity. This program is open to young people in grades six through 12. Registration is required.
First-grade club
The last meeting for the First-Grade Reading Club will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Children’s Story Hour Room.
Book clubs
The Boys Book Club meets every Tuesday and the Girls Book Club meets every Thursday, both at 4 p.m., through mid-April. Students in the third through fifth grades are invited to register.
Tax assistance
Volunteers will be on hand again this year to prepare taxes for low-income and senior citizens. Appointments are available on Friday mornings and early afternoons now through March 28. Call the library’s circulation desk at 533-9531 to schedule an appointment.

Story Hour
During Story Hour March 18 and 19, children will hear a story about a family who takes a dangerous journey. Sessions are set for 10:15 a.m. Participants will also create a “duck of shapes.” Registration is required to attend.
Toddler Time
Toddler Time attendees will hear a story about eggs during the session set for 10 a.m. March 19. There will also be a time of sharing. Registration is required.
Book Bites
Book Bites will meet Thursday at 10:15 a.m. The program is designed for children ages 3 years to 5 years, but older children are invited to attend as well. Younger children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. There will be stories and an activity. Registration is not required.
March prize drawing
Patrons can enter the special drawing March 18 to 30 by guessing how many buttons are in the container at the front desk. One winner with the closest answer, without going over, will receive a collection of four books. The container for the drawing slips will be in the entryway.

Women’s History Month
The theme for Women’s History Month this March is women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Library patrons are encouraged to check out one of more than 20 books about women innovators, or tell the staff about a book they’d like to have added to the library’s collection.
Book club
Kidz Book Club will have a special selection read by guest reader Janell Eltzroth this week. Children who can read to themselves are invited to the book club meeting Tuesday from 5 to 6 p.m. Participants will have a snack, share favorite books and preview the newest books at the library. There will also be a surprise activity.
‘My Antonia’
The public is invited to discuss the Kosciusko County Community Book Read, “My Antonia,” during a Wednesday meeting at 6:30 p.m. Coffee will be served.

Preschool Story Time
Children 3 to 6 years old are invited to Preschool Story Time to hear “The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog” by Mo Willems, as well as stories about elephants and pigs. Mini hot dogs will be offered, and the children will make puppets. The group meets Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 7 p.m.
Afternoon Knitting Club
The Afternoon Knitting Club will meet March 22 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the library meeting room. Experienced knitters will be on hand to offer assistance to those who need help with their projects.

Teen Tech Week
Teens are invited to special events at the library this week for Teen Tech Week:

Ebooks are coming
Patrons are invited to contact library staff with suggestions for ebooks to add to the library’s collection.
Change in policy
Starting April 1, for-profit groups will be assessed a fee for use of the meeting room. Call the library for details.
Adult Book Club
The Book Club will meet Wednesday at noon. The selection will be “Room” by Emma Donoghue. Copies will be available at the circulation desk.
Spring Story Time
Registration is under way for Spring Story Time. Sessions take place Mondays at 10:30 a.m. and Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. Children ages 3 to 5 are invited to participate to hear stories, music and make a craft to take home. Call 848-7458 to register. Last dates for this session are March 25 and 26.
Book clubs
Boys and Girls Book Clubs members will read “Dear Mr. Henshaw” by Beverly Cleary. Boys meet Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. through March 19; girls meed Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. through March 20. Children in grades three through five are invited to participate. Calling All Crafters
The Calling All Crafters group will meet Tuesday and March 26 at 6 p.m.
Teen Otaku Club
Teens interested in manga and anime are invited to the Teen Otaku Club March 19 at 6 p.m.
Soul, Ink
Writers of all ages and levels are invited to the Soul, Ink, writers’ group March 20 at 6 p.m.
Lego Club
The next Lego Club meeting is set for March 29 at 3 p.m. Participants of all ages are welcome.
Teen game night
Teens are invited to the library for video games, board games and snacks April 2 at 6 p.m.
New computers
There are now two computers available to use in the children’s department that are loaded with programs designed to be interactive, educational and entertaining.
