The Good Lovelies returning to Goshen for performance

GOSHEN — The Good Lovelies will be making a return visit to downtown Goshen Wednesday.

The trio is scheduled to perform at Ignition Garage, 120 E. Washington St. Showtime is 8 p.m.

Individually Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough and Sue Passmore played their first show together at Toronto’s Gladstone Hotel in 2006. Since then, they’ve been part of the summer festival circuit, including spots at the Mariposa and Hillside Festivals and the Montreal Jazz Festival. The Lovelies’ tourmates have included Stuart McLean and the Vinyl Cafe, and the band has appeared on stages and in studios with Broken Social Scene, Kathleen Edwards and Jill Barber.

The Lovelies’ recorded output includes “Under the Mistletoe” (2009), which showcases old and new seasonal tunes including three original songs, and their self-titled full-length album, also from 2009. With that record, The Good Lovelies won New Emerging Artist at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. In 2010, the debut album received a Juno award for Roots/Traditional Album of the Year.

“Let the Rain Fall,” the Lovelies third full-length album, was nominated for the 2012 Juno for Roots/Traditional Album of the Year.

The trio’s latest album is “Live at Revolution,” scheduled for release March 19.

Tickets for The Good Lovelies show at Ignition cost $18. For ticket and other information, visit the website www.ignitionmusic.net.
