Parts from Goshen area being used to build new recreational vehicle in the United Kingdom

GOSHEN — When Phil Daniels wanted to buy a roomy recreational vehicle for his family to use camping in the British Isles, he couldn’t find one. So he hopped aboard a jet, flew to a Texas RV show and met Brian Donat of Goshen.

The two men hit it off right away and decided what was needed to solve Daniels’ problem was a new line of RVs for European consumers. So they birthed the new company Eterniti Caravans.

Caravan is the English name for RVs. The new company is offering two versions of a sleek, light RV that can be towed by small, fuel-sipping automobiles on the narrow roads of Europe.

“We feel we have brought something new and fresh to the market,” Daniels said during a stop in Goshen Thursday.

After a year of planning, designing and building a new company from the ground up, Eterniti delivered its first RV to a couple in England a week ago. And there will be plenty more such deliveries based on orders received at the NEC show, which is the United Kingdom’s national RV show, according to Daniels.

“The product we have just brought to market has just blown away the show,” Daniels said. “We just took $2 million of business in our opening show...”

The Eterniti travel trailers are offered in 26- and 22-foot models and feature a 13-foot slideout. That slideout is built in Elkhart County and shipped to the company’s plant in Widnes.

Donat said he has been shipping two 40-foot cargo containers of parts from Goshen each month to build up a supply of components for the Eterniti travel trailers.
