GOSHEN —
From the top of the charts to a fair near you.
Grammy-nominated country music duo Thompson Square is scheduled to perform during the 2012 Elkhart County 4-H Fair. The concert is set for 8 p.m. July 23 — Monday of fair week — at the grandstand stage.
Tickets for reserved track seats go on sale March 24. The ticket price hasn’t been confirmed, but that information will be posted on the fair website at www.4hfair.org and Facebook when it becomes available.
Unlike track seating, grandstand seating is free with paid gate admission to the fair.
The Thompson Square show was announced Thursday, the day after fair officials confirmed that country music star Josh Turner will perform at the fair July 24.
Thompson Square consists of the husband and wife team Keifer and Shawna Thompson. The duo has enjoyed a banner year, thanks in large part to its chart-topping single “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not.” Thompson Square scored a Best Country Duo/Group Performance Grammy nomination for the single, and “Kiss Me” was also nominated for a Best Country Song Grammy.
Thompson Square is also a 2011 American Music Awards nominee for New Artist of the Year, and this year has performed on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” “Conan” and “Fox and Friends.” The duo’s follow-up single is “I Got You.”
The 2012 Elkhart County 4-H Fair runs July 20 to 28.
